Can I approve Windsurf from my phone?

Yes. Pushary sends a push when Windsurf stops on a permission prompt or asks you a question, and you approve or deny it from the lock screen. Windsurf resumes as soon as you answer, so you do not have to sit at the terminal. Answers can be yes or no, multiple choice, or free text. Windsurf can also send you an update when a task is done.

Windsurf notification questions

How do I get notifications when Windsurf finishes?

Connect Pushary as an MCP server in Windsurf. Run npx pushary@latest setup and pick Other, or paste the MCP config. Windsurf can then push your phone when a task completes.

Can Windsurf ask me questions via push?

Yes. Pushary gives Windsurf the ask and wait tools, so it can send a yes/no or multiple-choice question to your phone and wait for your answer.

Does Windsurf support enforced approvals?

Not over MCP. There the agent chooses when to ask. Windsurf is now Devin Desktop, and its Devin Local agent runs on the same harness as Devin CLI, which supports hooks that can block a command. Pushary enforces approvals through those hooks in Devin CLI. We have not tested them inside Devin Desktop yet, so for enforced approvals today use Devin CLI, Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.

Is Windsurf now called Devin Desktop?

Yes. Cognition renamed Windsurf to Devin Desktop on 2 June 2026, and windsurf.com now leads to devin.ai/desktop. You connect Pushary the same way, over MCP: run npx pushary@latest setup, pick Other, and add the Pushary server in Devin Desktop's MCP settings.
